Microblading is the latest trend sweeping the world of beauty. It is a highly requested technique that can be also referred to as microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, hair stroke technique, 3D brows or feather touch look.
These are all a manual method of tattooing.
Microblading is performed by using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the upper layers of the dermis via thin hair-like strokes. This is an advanced technique that requires a lot of patience & practice. It does not involve the use of a machine.
As a microblading artist, it is necessary to acquire an artistic eye for design, have a steady hand & clear vision.
This method is ideal for:
- Anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows.
- People who have sparse or no eyebrow hairs.
- People suffering from Alopecia, or any other medical condition that causes hair loss.
- Those who have difficulty drawing their eyebrows due to poor vision without eyeglasses or contact lens or vision loss due to eye conditions
- Those with busy lifestyles who don't have time to apply makeup daily.
The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your natural eyebrow color. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade 25% over a two-week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch-up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.
It is considered to be a semi-permanent procedure as it lasts 12-18 months on average before a touch up is required. However, a touch-up once a year is recommended to retain the shape, colour & fullness.
T.C. Spa's Blading Method
Before your appointment:
-Prior to the appointment, you should wash your hair, because you cannot get your eyebrows wet for 48 hours.
-If you fill in your eyebrows on a day-to-day basis, please do so before coming in. That way, I can see the color & the shape that you are used to & make any adjustments if needed.
*VERY IMPORTANT*
24 hours before the appointment:
These cause the blood to thin, and bleeding modifies the color & hair stroke.
Please eat something 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment. This keeps your blood sugars steady & helps you to be more comfortable & less sensitive
After Care (after the appointment):
-Do not wet for a minimum of 2 days, please wash your face carefully around the eyebrows without getting water on the treated area. A wipe works best.
-No rubbing, no picking & no scratching the treated area.
Your eyebrows might feel a little ticklish & itchy during the first phase of the recovering process, it is important not to rub as you might get an infection.
Peeling is absolutely normal during second phase of recovery; avoid any sort of picking of dry skin as you might peel out the wrong parts & create bald spots in the newly reconstructed brows.
-Keep your hair away from your face for at least 3 days as this could cause infection.
–Keep the area of pigmentation lightly moist for one day with Triple Antibiotic Ointment (I already applied). On the second day, start using Tattoo Aftercare Balm 3 times a day for 2 weeks, always keeping the area moist. Use a Q-tip and lightly coat over the eyebrows, especially before the shower to create a barrier. Eyebrows will require aftercare balm for one week, once a day after the flaking has stopped.
Avoid petroleum Jelly or Vaseline as it can cause a reaction & block skin from breathing. This step is very important – keeping the pigmented skin moist with an oil base ointment will control the amount of drying & crusting.
This will help with color retention.
-No sun beds, tanning, excessive sweating in the gym
No makeup or anti-aging creams on the eyebrow area for at least 10 days.
It is best to allow the brows to heal first before using any of the above.
No heavy sweating for 2 days.
-The entire healing process will take from 4 to 6 weeks depending on your body’s regeneration, age, immune system & lifestyle. Sometimes after microblading, clients develop dry, flaky skin. It is very important not to rub, pick or peel off your flakes or scabs. Itching is absolutely normal as the skin is repairing itself. Never rub the treated area as it will disturb the skin from its natural healing process.
If you get your brows wet at the beginning of recovery, simply dry them with lint-free tissue.
The way you take care of your new brows after microblading will have a great impact on the way they look. Improper care often results in fading or “patchy” brows.
-Note that because of the natural skin regeneration, after the recovery period, brows might appear lighter than original. Often, even with proper care, clients develop bald spots or lose the original hairstrokes which can make brows look uneven. It is absolutely normal because your natural skin regeneration is not a process that a technician can control. That’s why most clients need a touch-up after 1 month to ensure that brows are perfectly even & the desired effect is achieved.
AVOID
Any type of skin peels or products containing Retin A, glycolic acid or AHA, or botox.
No make-up over the pigmented area.
Hot, steamy showers or long baths. Keep your face away from shower head & apply a thick coating of Tattoo Aftercare Balm while bathing or showering.
Avoid soap, creams or lotions on the pigmented area, wash & apply around the area.
No swimming, saunas or Jacuzzi for the period of 10 -14 days.
Feel free to contact T.C. Spa if you have any other questions or concerns.
Microblading $450
Microblading works great for clients who want to fill in gaps in the brow line or create brows where hair has been lost. I often recommend microblading for clients with fair hair or drier skin who hope to achieve a natural look. For clients with oily skin, microblading strokes may fade faster, need more touch ups or expand a little. If you have oily skin, we recommend powdered brows or a combination brow. Initial 45-day9 4 to 6 weeks) touch up is included.
Late Microblading Touch Up Fee $100
If for some reason you aren't able to receive your touch up in the suggested time period (4 to 6 weeks).
Microblading / Microshading Touch-Up 6 months to 1 year $250
The touch up appointment is done 6 to 1 year after. Sometimes a client’s skin undertones may have unexpected effects on the ink's colour the artist may need to add colour to adjust. These kinds of corrections are normal & an essential part of the process, as everyone’s skin is different.
Annual Touch Up $350
Oily Skin Touch Up $100
Powder Brows/ Ombre Brows/ Microshading $450
Microshading can be done with a machine or a hand tool in order to create an ombre look instead of individual hair strokes. I recommend powdered brows for individuals with oily skin, mature skin, & for those wanting a soft makeup look. The soft makeup look means the tails are darker and fade/ombre to lighter in colour at the start of the brows, giving them a more subtle look. The ideal candidates for powdered brows are those who have hair but fill in with makeup. If you have thinner brows, we can add in hair strokes after for additional texture.
Hybrid Brow/ Combination Brow $575+
This is for clients wanting both the look of microblading hair strokes & shaded/ powdered brows. For combination brows, I use some strokes to create a natural hair look & then add in soft shading through the rest of the brow. Strokes are usually drawn around the edges where they’ll be the most visible and then powered shading is added to the body of the brow to give it a full look that retains a beautiful shape every day.
Microblading, powder brows & combination brows are all great ways to get the eyebrows you’ve worked so hard to create with makeup. Choosing one of these cosmetic tattooing styles results in maintenance-free, beautiful brows. Wake up and go without having to fill in your brows each morning.
